This is a near-mint Conn New Wonder II tenor saxophone - Often referred to as the "Chu Berry" model, this example sports an extremely rare "00 Artist's Special" Finish. It has uncommon "dancing lady" engraving with floral embellishment on the bell, as well as hand-burnished quadruple gold plating that sparkles in light.
This sax was recently serviced and plays very well top to bottom on current good-condition pads. There are a few usage-related spots of finish wear on the body but these are minor and hard to notice. Two experienced technicians have confirmed that this horn is gold plated. Serial number M172XXX dates manufacture to 1927
This sax is an incredible time capsule, the finish is exceedingly rare, and it plays very well. This would be perfect in any collection of vintage American saxophones!
This beautiful saxophone comes with an aftermarket Hiscox Case
